Welcome to Chef’s Pantry – An Introduction
Welcome, my name is Gabe Georis. My whole life I have been involved with food and restaurants. I grew up in a restaurant, I worked in restaurants, and I have owned my own restaurants since 2009.
When we went into “shelter in place” this year, my entire business was forced to change drastically. Although I miss the daily activity in the restaurant, I am also really enjoying spending time with my family at home. I believe that good food, healthy food, clean food, is the foundation of our well being. Cooking fresh, healthy and tasty meals for our families is nourishment for their bodies, minds, and souls. This act of love and generosity is something I hold dear. Unfortunately, the food available to us as average consumers is not at the quality I’m used to, and certainly not of the quality I’d prefer to feed my family.
Restaurants have access to the best ingredients. As restaurateurs, we have direct connections with our local farmers, fishermen, ranchers, and artisan producers of pasta, bread, sausages, cheeses etc…Because of this, we get a tier of ingredients that is far superior and much fresher than what you can find in a market or supermarket. We also have access to a far wider array of ingredients. You would have to make many stops at many specialty food stores to access the variety that I could get delivered to my front door in a single day.
